MgFe2O4@ZnFe2O4 nanocomposite as a magnetic catalyst: Synthesis and oil spill removal from water

We report on the enhance magnetic properties of synthesized Mg-Ferrite catalyst through microwave-assisted combustion route by making nanocomposite via Zn-ferrite. The gravimetric oil removal capability tests from water at room temperature were performed. Phase impurity and surface morphology which investigated with XRD analysis field emission- scanning electron microscopy, indicate that spinel structure are formed average particle size increases present Zn-ferrite 30.66nm to 32.85 nm. Magnetic measurements result indicates high values saturation magnetization will be produced Intrinsic stretching vibrations metal tetrahedral site (Mtetra → O) 558.08 561.06cm−1 observed in FT-IR spectra for pure MgFe2O4@ZnFe2O4 ferrites respectively. results as-synthesized powdered MgFe2O4 can used as absorbent materials removing spills surface.
